Come have fun making a mug at your favorite coffee shop. Sunday July 28th from 1-3pm in the community room. This class is for ADULTS only.
Petite Rouge Cafe is located at 3146 Calhoun St. New Orleans. Turn off Claiborne Ave by Ted's Frostop. This is between Broadway and Jefferson Ave.
$40. The workshop price includes your choice of one of the following drinks:
-iced tea (regular or with hibiscus ginger or lavender syrup)
-hot coffee, cafe au lait or latte
No experience necessary! Just follow my instructions. We are constructing a mug using slabs of clay, putting together a rectangle, a circle and a handle. Then you get to decorate it.
Decorating options include:
-carving (I will have all the tools for this)
-tracing over a picture of an image that you bring with you (max. height 3")
-stamping letters ( I have letter stamps for you to use)
-painting over a cutout of an image you've brought with you (max. height 3")
I will take your mug and glaze it for you and deliver it back to the cafe 2 weeks after our class. You will get to chose a glaze color from samples that I bring to the class.
Wear comfortable clothing. The clay will not stain your clothes, but you may want to wear something that you wouldn't mind getting dirty.
Maximum of 8 people per class. You will see that the item is "sold out" once 8 people have paid online for the class. If the item is still active and allows you to purchase it, you are one of the lucky 8 people attending the workshop.
Call 504.373.4475 if you have any questions.
The three blue mugs in the first photo were made at a workshop by three nurses who had never worked with clay. They came out great! You can make a cool mug too.
